Bernadette Peters
Bernadette Peters (nee Lazzara was born on February 28, 1948) is an American performer, actress and children's book writer. She has appeared on television, film as well as in musical theatre and solo performances, and also recorded recordings. Her career spans over six years. She is a highly-acclaimed Broadway actor, having earned seven nominations for Tony Awards, winning two (plus an honorary award) and nine Drama Desk Award nominations, winning three. Four of the Broadway album of cast on which she's starred have won Grammy Awards.
Many believe Peters to be the top Stephen Sondheim interpreter. She is well-known for performances on Broadway like Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (1884), Song and Dance (1885), Into the Woods with George (1987), The Goodbye Girl (1993), Annie Get Your Gun (1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2010), Follies (2009), and Hello, Dolly (2018).
