Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Paul Felix, her father was a pastor ordained at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix discovered early that she had an aptitude for running when attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. A mere 10 weeks after the initial time she tried out, she was ranked second in 200m at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix finished high school in 2003 and signed with Adidas an agreement as a professional athlete. In the following year, she was a student at the University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic prize at the 2004 Summer Olympics In Athens Greece. Felix ran 200 meters in 22.18s and set the new world junior record. In 2005, the Helsinki World Championships saw her becoming the youngest female to be crowned the winner of the 200-meter race. In 2007 she defended the title by beating her Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix was consistently at the top of the podium in her various events in the Olympics that took place at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
